Oncology is a specialty that treats cancers with systemic treatment or “chemotherapy”. Although term chemotherapy refers to cancer treatments given intravenously, in modern oncology there are other novel treatment approaches are also utilized such as immunotherapy, hormone therapy or targeted therapies.
Conditions treated:
Breast, lung, head and neck, genitourinary (prostate, kidney ,bladder, pancreas ,gallbladder, biliary tract) gastrointestinal (esophagus, stomach, colorectal) , brain (glioblastoma multiforme), gynecologic (uterus, cervix, ovaries), skin (squamous cell, melanoma).
